Namitha wasn’t too happy with this change

Namitha’s past comes to haunt her. In 2006, Namitha signed Azhagana Ponnu for 17 lakhs, but later there was a change in directors just after shooting began.

Thirunavukkarasu replaced Kamaraj and Namitha wasn’t too happy with this change.
The producer negotiated with Namitha and she agreed to contime on the condition that she would work with Thiru for a few days; if she was not satisfied, she could quit the project. Believing this, Namitha reported for the shooting at Kodaikanal where the director regularly came late to the sets. She says that she was frustrated with this unprofessional attitude of the director and quit. Later, Namitha’s career grew with films like Billa and Azhagiya Tamil Magan.
Recently, the producer and director of Azhagana Ponnu filed a complaint with the Producers’ Council that Namitha is reneging on her commitment to the movie by not reporting for shooting after having taken her fee of 17 lakhs. In return, Namitha too, filed a counter-complaint saying the director and producer are harassing her and even threatened her recently in a city hotel.
The case is before the Producers' Council. Now it is matter for the Council to decide.
